The Theatre of Architecture is a new building designed by the Architect Mario Botta, located near the “Turconi” building, the historic seat of the Academy of Architecture of the USI (Università della Svizzera Italiana).
The new museum has different exhibiting areas which are distributed on four different levels, covering a total of 2,300 m2, and has plans for a multifunctional room for conferences, workshops and concerts with a seating capacity of 350.
During the construction of the building, OmniBus was responsible for the management and supervision of lighting and the movement of blinds and windows.
By using high-level technology protocols such as LONTalk, DALI and >TCP/IP the following mechanisms can interact:
- 1200 light sources
- 40 presence detectors
- 80 multiple power buttons
- 50 blinds
Other mechanisms involved include motorized glass windows, remote-controlled electrical sockets, screen projectors.
A weather station provides data on light intensity in relation to the four cardinal directions. It is then able to regulate the position of the blinds.
A tool was developed for the programming of the Dali lights, in such a way as to allow the exhibitors a complete freedom in the management of the same, regardless of the distribution of the lights on the different buses.
The tool can also be used by tablet via wifi, thus allowing fitters to realize the scenarios directly in the exhibition rooms.
The range of services provided by OmniBus in this project is complemented by an interface to the AMX system.
